Changes in Package Build 2.0.0:
* Now using build of AGS from GitHub
* Significant custom changes to ags-setup utility

INSTALLATION

Extract the contents of 1213-Linux.tar.gz into its own directory, such as "/home/user/1213" for example. Run the ags-setup utility for each game to customize the resolution and configure your sound card, and then run the game executable.

NOTE: The ags-setup utility defaults to running the "AGS272" file instead of the standard game executable when one clicks "Save and Run". This binary will use your system libraries instead of trying to use the ones pre-packaged with the games.

If you encounter any problems, please see the Troubleshooting section of this file.

STORY

A man lies in a darkened cell, consumed by pain and sickness. He does not know where he is. He does not know how he came to be there. He does not even know his own name. All he knows is that he is being tortured by a bizarre, bespectacled man, who addresses him only as a number - Twelve-Thirteen.

Every day, Twelve-Thirteen is taken out of his cell and goaded into running a dangerous hazard course, apparently for the sole amusement of the bespectacled man. Today seems to be no different. But while Twelve-Thirteen sits brooding in his darkened prison, the door suddenly falls open with no apparent cause. To discover the answers to all of his questions, Twelve-Thirteen must adventure into the unknown world beyond the cell...

EPISODE 1
1213 escapes from the cell, and soon learns that he may have been better off where he was.

EPISODE 2
With more questions raised than answered, 1213 explores further areas of his prison and begins to learn the truth about his genesis.

EPISODE 3
Hounded from all sides by hostile strangers and his own debilitating illness, 1213 strives on for a final confrontation with his mysterious captor, and a truth he may not be ready for.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The games were packaged with the Linux build of Adventure Game Studio from GitHub, and ship with the following libraries:

aldmb >= 0.9.3-5
Allegro >= 4.4.2

The games have been tested on Arch i386.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Tweak your game settings using the ags-setup utility.

If you are using Fedora and are having trouble running the game, try installing the following packages:
yum install git allegro dumb freetype libogg libtheora libvorbis

If you are using Arch and are having trouble running the game, try installing the following packages:
pacman -S allegro4 dumb freetype2 libogg libtheora libvorbis

If you are using Ubuntu or Debian and are having trouble running the game, try installing the following packages:
apt-get install libaldmb1 libfreetype6 libtheora libvorbis libogg

For any other distribution, please consult your repositories.

Then try running the "AGS272" file instead of the standard executable. This is binary will use your system libraries instead of trying to use the ones pre-packaged with the games.

If you encounter a sound error such as “[Problem: Insufficient digital voices available]”, make sure you have your own version of Allegro installed and then delete the files liballeg.so, liballeg.so.4.4, and liballeg-4.4.2.so from each of the games “libs” directories. This will make it default to your systems Allegro library.

If these do not help, try consulting the official documentation for Adventure Game Studio on Linux:
https://github.com/adventuregamestudio/ags/blob/master/debian/README.md
